TOP 10 Reasons to Vote For Yas!

10. Walks the talk on our climate crises. Running a Green campaign.

9. Not on a slate endorsed by one school. Slates are often divisive and don’t even work. Yas is independent of political consultants and pressures (and doesn’t believe in pressuring people to get votes). She believes candidates should run on their own merit, and that people get to vote freely in a democracy.

8. For 10 years she’s rolled up her sleeves as a parent volunteer in our school district. From the day her two kids toddled into Sausalito Nursery School to them now standing tall as WCA middle schoolers (both excited to be part of the first graduating class of our unified school!) As a trustee, she will have the pulse of parents to represent their voices on issues. And build a much-needed bridge to local high schools.

7. Will be a positive force for unity on the board. No more “Us vs Them” divisive rhetoric, drama, lawsuits. Laughter, civil debate of ideas, and trust is our future.

6. Has the chops to ensure fiscal integrity of a unified school (former Asst VP, Internal Audit at Bank of America, run her own small business Maison Reve for 10 years with balanced budgets annually, UNC-Chapel Hill grad, BS in Business, minor in Accounting).

5. Knows how to shape a new inspiring story for our district as a beacon of light to communities across our nation (former Vice President of Communications working with three Olympic Games - Lillehammer, Atlanta and Sydney).

4. Is the candidate with a positive working relationship with BOTH school principals, our superintendent, and district board members (worth reading this one twice).

3. Always says “Yes!” when asked if we should unify our two schools. Never “Yes, but…” Why? Because student needs come first. They deserve to be part of a unified school that harnesses our abundant resources, volunteer power, and collective wisdom. What’s one of the best ways to desegregate Bayside MLK and prioritize our students with the highest needs at both schools? Vote for the candidate that said “Yes!” to unification over a year ago and every day since. The candidate that worked to build trust not sow distrust. Yasmine’s actions show these students come first. To her it’s not about ego, power, or control. It’s about turning the power back to our students and educators.

2. Builds bridges, not walls. In 2014, she led the cross-school effort that brought Conscious Kitchen to all WCA students. How? By building trust and collaboration with Bayside MLK’s chefs and teachers who pioneered the program. As a trustee, she commits to helping local 94956 chefs, coaches, and artisans build Food, Sport, and Art bridges. Throughout history, these natural unifiers bring diverse communities together. And will help us built trust, understanding, and friendships as one inclusive community.

Drum Roll please….The #1 reason to vote for Yas is:

1. She stands in the middle of both schools, opening a wide Unity Tent where everyone belongs and where everyone can and will be heard.
